This program provides attorneys with practical guidance on evaluating and defending professional liability claims involving lawyers, healthcare providers, insurance professionals, and other licensed professionals. As malpractice and negligence claims become increasingly complex, attorneys must understand the legal standards governing professional duties, liability exposure, and available defense strategies.

 

In this CLE webinar, Matthew Breetz, Member at Stites & Harbison, PLLC, will examine key issues in professional liability litigation, including the elements of professional negligence claims, standards of care, causation considerations, insurance coverage challenges, and strategies for effectively defending claims. Matt Breetz is a Member with Stites & Harbison, PLLC and Co-Chair of the firm’s Torts & Insurance Practice Group. An experienced trial attorney, he regularly appears in state and federal courts throughout Kentucky and Tennessee and has substantial litigation experience in Southern Indiana. Matt has tried approximately 40 jury trials throughout his career. Matt defends a wide range of professionals, including attorneys, insurance agents and brokers, accountants, engineers, architects, and other service providers in professional liability matters. He also represents nurses, nursing homes, and allied health professionals in high-exposure personal injury and wrongful death cases. His practice includes premises liability, toxic tort, motor carrier, insurance coverage, and bad faith litigation. Matt is a frequent speaker on professional liability, legal ethics, and risk management topics nationwide.
